The Northbrook faculty is experienced, professional, and dedicated. Parents have commented that "Northbrook teachers are teaching for the love of teaching" and that it is obvious that they proudly offer more than what is expected. Because of the high quality of the Northbrook students and the small class sizes, Northbrook teachers comment that " they can do more with their students and they enjoy the challenge that active learners present". The Northbrook Experience is built on this simple formula for personal success: A small community of fine students + experienced teachers who give personal attention + a comprehensive curriculum designed to challenge and extend = an outstanding middle school education.

Our courses and instructors:

  • Math: Mr. Matthew Leach has been teaching at Northbrook since 2005. Mr. Leach has a BS in mathematics from Goucher College and an MAT in teaching Mathematics from Bridgewater State College. He is currently pursuing his Doctorate in Mathematics at Boston University. In addition to math, Mr. Leach now teaches Latin 1 at Northbrook Academy. If you attend any local parades, you may also find Mr. Leach sharing his musical talents, playing his trumpet.
