Competitive Teams |
Northbrook Academy has competitive teams in Cross Country and Basketball. The boys and girls cross country teams have competed in the Taunton Middle School League. 5th and 6th grade runners complete 1.7 mile course and the 7th and 8th grade group run a 2.1 mile course. The 2008-09 girls team went undefeated and finished in first place in the Taunton Middle School league. In 2011 a new cross-country league was formed with schools such as Sacred Heart, TCMS, and Mullin Hill. The home meets for this league have been held at our course through Peirce Fields, at 26 Jackson Street, Middleborough. The boys and girls basketball team (CO-ED) has participated in the Christian Athletic Association League. This league of local, small private schools is for players in grades 6, 7 and 8. In 2010-11 and in 2009-10 the Northbrook basketball team won the championship. (Go Shamrocks! ) The 2008-09 team finished the year with a 3 and 6 season putting them in 3rd place. The Northbrook basketball team also won best sportsmanship award in both 2007-08 and 2006-07.
